Tomato season starts

Frost is still on the ground and the days are very short, but today I’ve started my attempt to have tomatoes ripe for June / July. My plan: a sunny window sill till April, a tomato tent from April – outside the shed – to protect from late frosts, and then lots of pruning to fast track growth into tomatoes rather than big plants with leaves. What I really like about doing this is that it’s made January feel like the start of spring, and that is worth the effort all by itself.
