Chilly day at the allotment

It was freezing yesterday.  The good news is that having missed three weeks at the allotment,  with commitments one weekend and flu the other,  the cold weather has stopped all weeds growing and I found the plot exactly as I left it.  And even better,  I could get stuck in and dig up the remaining potatoes (undamaged by frost),  bring home some fresh leaks – and perhaps best of all the biggest and most delicious looking cabbage of the season.  Days like this remind me the joy of having an allotment – when I don’t have to fight the weeds and my focus is on bringing home the crops !  Mind you,  when the ground is not covered in frost its even better 🙂
