I hope not ! Last summer I thought I had a great suprise. Earlier in the summer I had waited for my green gooseberries to turn red. When the green gooseberries grew and grew and then fell off, I then checked my planting plan and realised the red gooseberry bush was planted elsewhere. My mistake only cost me a few gooseberries that I left laying on the ground. Fast forward, and clearing up around the bush I found 4 or 5 plants – young seedlings, with very similar leaves to my gooseberry bush. So I’ve pampered them, potted them in fresh compost, and kept them in my grow house over the cold winter. My only worry now is that I have nurtured weeds. I trust not !
