Christmas Dinner 2010

Potatoes and parsnips from the allotment to complement gammon,  accompanied by bread pudding, supermarket carrots, sprouts and beetroot :(,  plus stuffing (with homegrown garden herbs, allotment garlic and onion) and gravy.  Delicious !!

Sweet parsnips

Having eaten these parsnips (roasted) freshly dug from the snow and ice, my personal view is that it is true that parsnips taste sweeter after a really hard frost. The biggest problem was finding them in the ground when the snow and ice had covered up where they were ! Sent from my iPad

What’s the best water to drink

Common sense advice (perhaps not the part about soda).  Forcing to drink water has never worked for me when I’ve run,  although I always drink before I do to make sure I’m not dehydrated before I set off.
